Progress Update:

To all you who are curious about your copy of JailBird, it's coming. We have to apologize: we seriously underestimated how long it would take to create hand-draw 400 custom cards and redo our box. Our manufacture is pretty rigorous with their testing (which is good!) but every time they changed the box dimensions they would retest the process over the course of a couple weeks (which is not as good!)

We're relieved to announce that manufacturing has been completed and we are beginning the shipping from China to the US, then from the US to you. On that note, we will be charging cards and asking you for your finalized addresses soon via Backerkit! Keep a lookout for that email 👀👀

We know this is taking a little longer than expected (OH MY GOD IT'S JUNE), so thank you for bearing with the delays. We'll bring you guys updates any time something news-worthy happens. We are preparing and very nearly ready for our own Ship-day, where we package and send all 300 some copies of JailBird in a single day 📦

Follow-Up: New Card Designs!

Hello Everyone!

Here it is! Our new redesign! Below you will see the new designs for all our cards, as well as the new card back (top left) and actual new cards (Barely Blind Bat, Rebound, Hot Potatowl, Prisoner’s Dilemma, and Eggscape).

Hello Everyone!

We’ve got a lot to cover in this update. We’ve made great progress with manufacturing, and are waiting for our units to be produced and shipped to us.

Now, onto the important stuff…

Overall Status

First off, we apologize for the infrequent updates. We wanted to make updates when we had concrete and significant progress. Both we and our manufacturer have incredibly high standards, and as a result we had to redesign our box and cards multiple times. We didn’t anticipate that our refactoring process would be so long. We hope that you can forgive us for a delay as we try to make the best product we can, and we can’t wait to get it to you to enjoy!

Timeline

As of this week, our manufacturer has estimated our production time to take approximately 3 weeks until they are ready to send to us so that we may begin fulfilling orders to you wonderful people.

Shipping is estimated to take about a month as we are shipping via sea rather than by air. We decided to do this because by reducing shipping costs it allows us to improve on our material quality and the overall design. We want to ensure that the product you receive is the best possible one.

Fulfillment on our end (putting games and add-ons in boxes to ship) would be done over the course of a weekend. The actual time to deliver via shipping companies (USPS, UPS, etc.) will take anywhere from 1-3 weeks depending on where you are in the world relative to where we are (Seattle). Those of you outside the US should anticipate about 3-weeks.

Note:  Backers who are in China, Singapore, or India will have a different fulfillment timeline apply to them, as our manufacturer has agreed to send packages for those orders directly to our contacts in those countries.

Here is the new design of the box for our game! We have many more images that we're excited to share, but those will take some time to prepare so they will be shared in a future update. 

Overall Timeline

With everything all said and done, we anticipate that you will have your product in-hand by mid-to-late July. This is much later than we had originally set our shipment date, and we thank you for your patience and understanding!

With regards to BackerKit, we will be charging cards for your orders once we have received confirmation that our manufacturing order is complete and out for shipment. We will be posting updates as progress is made regarding manufacturing, specifically when it’s out for shipment (and the subsequent notification of cards being charged) as well as once we have received our units here in the States and begin the process of actually fulfilling your orders. We will then lock addresses 1 week after having charged cards to allow you to make any last-minute changes, should there be any.

In the meantime, if you haven’t filled out the survey in BackerKit (only applies to those who backed us on Kickstarter, not if you pre-ordered on our BackerKit shop), please do so! We want to ensure that as many of you get your product, because without that survey being completed we won’t know your address and thus cannot send you your product. We will be sending reminders via BackerKit every Monday (starting this Monday, May 3rd) up until we charge cards.

Note: Again, for those of you in the three previously mentioned countries, we will adjust your account balances accordingly so that you only have to pay what the actual rates will be (sending from manufacturer to contact + contact to you) rather than the rates that you currently see.

Hello JailBird Family!

 It’s been a little bit since you’ve heard from us! We’ve been busy birds hard at work preparing everything for manufacturing and are wrapping up on the process. We had a lot of changes to make coming out from our campaign (adding jailbars, drawing custom cards, etc.) that we are really excited to show you!

 Here’s a quick teaser (from a few weeks ago) of a set of unprinted jailbars sliding into the box just right 👌👌:

We’re about to hit some big milestones and we’ll give you a larger update soon, but we just wanted to drop this quick line to keep you in the loop.

In the meantime, if you haven’t gotten the chance to fill out your BackerKit surveys please do so. If you don’t we cannot send you your product given that the survey is how we collect your shipping information. REMINDER: Complete your BackerKit Surveys by 2/6!

Hello Everyone!

This your second reminder to fill out the surveys from BackerKit before the deadline which is Sunday, February 6th! We're sitting at only 55% completion after having released surveys over a month ago, which is less than we anticipated at this point. 

In order to ensure everyone gets their surveys in, starting this week we will be doing BackerKit reminder emails as well. Those emails will go out specifically to those who haven't completed surveys (so if you already have you're good to go). These Kickstarter reminders will continue to be on Mondays, while the BackerKit reminders will be sent out on Fridays.
