This is to remind anyone who hasn't filled out their BackerKit surveys to please do so as soon as you can! If you're having trouble finding it in your email, a good place to look would be your spam inbox. Additionally, if you type 'JailBird' into the search bar in your email that should definitely help with finding it if it's been buried at this point.
If neither of these things work let us know at firstname.lastname@example.org and we can re-send it to you.

Celebrating the New Year with an Update!

We hope you all enjoyed the holiday season and remained safe and healthy during this time. We’d also like to wish you a happy 2021 🎉🎉!
We’ve been busy getting the final touches completed to begin manufacturing! We should be ready for production by late January. So far, we expect to be able to meet the estimated shipping date of April of this year.
THIS NEXT SECTION IS IMPORTANT, PLEASE READ:
As you all know we have sent out our BackerKit surveys about a month ago. Our deadline to complete these surveys is Saturday, February 6th.
You will not be able to make changes to your orders after that date. If you've already placed your order, perfect! For those of you who haven’t yet, we will be posting reminders every 7 days starting from today up until the previously mentioned deadline. We will also give a final notice 48 hours before we lock all orders.
We expect to charge cards approximately 1-2 weeks after that deadline, and then lock addresses for shipping in March.

BackerKit Surveys Information

As some of you may have noticed (and already completed), the BackerKit surveys have been sent out as of yesterday! For those of you who haven't yet please check your email associated with your account on Kickstarter to find it. The survey is where you confirm you order, put down your shipping address, and pay for shipping (if you want more info on shipping please refer to our previous update).
As with any new thing, there's going to be some bumps in the road, and thankfully we've managed to find a solution for one we've already encountered: Bonus support.
What is bonus support?
This is the money that any of you contributed on top of the items you purchased. For example, you bought the Boss Bird tier and added an extra $20 to that order because you love us so much.
What's the issue?
On BackerKit, they have no way in determining whether the $70 you contributed (as in the example above) was by purchasing a Boss Bird and Basic Bird, or just a Boss Bird and bonus support. What this means is you'd just get a $70 credit to your profile when you get into the survey. If you've already filled the survey and managed to sort the issue yourself, great! If not, continue reading.
There is no way that we can force you to not use that credit to buy another add-on instead of just keeping it as bonus support, same goes if you wanted to use some of that credit to cover shipping, but if you wanted to not buy anything extra or cover shipping and were wondering how to address the credit balance remaining after checkout, the way to solve the issue is to 'purchase' the Tip Jar. The Tip Jar is essentially the same as additional support on Kickstarter. There are different options on the Tip Jar: $1; $5; $10; $20; $50; $100; and $300 (we had one backer provide that much extra, hence why that's an option). You can also buy an unlimited amount of any of those variants, so if you don't see your additional support number, say $30, you could buy a $20 and $10 variant and it would do the same thing. Unfortunately, BackerKit does not have an option for you to put a custom amount as of now, so this is the only solution for that.
If I do this, will I be charged again for my original backing?
No, the only additional charge you should receive through BackerKit should be shipping and any additional items you bought outside of Kickstarter that goes beyond the credit applied to your account.
If I buy an extra item with some of my credit, do I get charged for that?
As long as the item you purchased does not go beyond the credit to your account then it shouldn't. This will increase the shipping costs of course but if you decided to use that extra $20 (or however much additional support you provided) to buy an extra copy of our game the only change would be your shipping charges.
What if I didn't provide bonus support, but purchased add-ons during the campaign?
BackerKit has ported that information over to their platform, meaning if you bought a Baller Bird ($30) and then purchased another Basic Bird ($20) plus an Eggspansion Peck ($7), the total credit applied to your account would be the full $57. What you'd do in the survey is just re-add the add-ons into your cart. There's a disclaimer for this very question within our survey, but we wanted to make sure everyone understands.

Hello JailBird Family!
Hope you had a happy Thanksgiving (🍗RIP our turkey brethren who bravely gave their lives🍗)! We have a couple announcements we'd like to make:
Late Pledge Store
Our late-pledge store is now live! To any of you who’ve been wanting to support us but didn’t get the chance to during our campaign, you can find it here.
Finalizing Orders & Shipping
We will begin sending out surveys soon! This is to finalize orders (make sure we have the right address as well as charge appropriate shipping).
When you receive your surveys from BackerKit (our campaign management tool), the shipping rates shown are estimates, with an extra 20% buffer for rate increases related to COVID-19 by the shipping industry. We do not expect final rates to be that high, but we would hate to charge you twice in the rare case that they are.
As a note, we will not charge for shipping (and add-ons) until we begin the process of shipping your units. This is when we will adjust the rates to the actual costs.
- The rate estimates we have made for the US are based on shipping from Seattle, Washington (where we’re based) to Miami, Florida. If you live in a state that is closer (e.g., Colorado or California), your final rate will be much lower.
Asia (Singapore, India, Hong Kong, China):
- Our manufacturer (based in China) has offered to ship units directly from their warehouse to these countries. We are negotiating with them currently, and so your rates are subject to dramatic change (decreasing, ofc)
Switzerland & UK
- Since Switzerland and the UK are not within the EU (UK being a bit of a grey area 😢), but is in Europe, we expect the rates to be around those of the EU
- The rate estimates we have made for shipping to Russia are for the western side, which is in Europe
